In 1991, Lemar began the first stage of its plan to introduce Middle Eastern Dates and dried fruit to Malaysia. Prior to Lemar's undertaking the market was limited to only American and Australian products.

Upon receiving an enthusiastic response to our first effort, we expanded on this success by increasing our line to include Pistachios, Dried Figs, Dried Apricots, Hazelnuts, Walnuts, Dried Cherries and Apricot Kernels. We continue to expand our catalog as we see the increased demand and sophistication of the Malaysian consumer.

Having established ourselves as a major brand in the arena of dried fruits, we began thinking of how to introduce a completely separate line of products while still maintaining a synergy with our established line.

And thus EASTERN DELIGHT was born. The brand represents our complete line of Middle Eastern Pastries including Baklawa, assorted Arabic Sweets, Nougat and a large selection of Pastries. Naturally, all of these products are created using our own premium ingredients including Dates, Apricots, Pistachios, Cashew Nuts, Almonds, and Honey to name a few.

To maintain the high level of quality and consistency we have become known for, we at EASTERN DELIGHT brought a Middle Eastern master chef with over 30 years of experience to our facilities in Malaysia. This was the only way we could ensure that anything with the EASTERN DELIGHT label would always be of maximum freshness and quality.
